Mauricio Pochettino Not Concerned with Tottenham’s Poor Form

Tottenham’s disappointing form continued after a 1-1 draw with champions Leicester City.

It was an extremely disappointing result for Mauricio Pochettino and his team considering that they were playing at home. After a spectacular run of results that saw them secure a 2-0 win over Manchester City before the last international break, Spurs were considered as potential title contenders. However, they have failed to win since that unlikely win over City and have dropped five points behind the table leaders as a result. Even after this latest result, the club continue to remain in a strong position.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino does have a big work of bringing back confidence into the team, but he is not unfazed about the recent poor form. A lot was made up of the club’s high-intensity style of football at the start of the season. Many felt that Tottenham would not be able to keep up this level of intensity in the second half of the season due to their involvement in the Champions League.

Injuries coupled with European midweek games have seen Spurs’ performance levels drop drastically in the last few weeks. There are still some heavy games awaiting Spurs in the next few matches, as they visit Arsenal in the coming weekend.

The club will also have to comprehend games against Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.”I don’t remember having one.It is hard because the players come, maybe not injured, but with many problems and maybe play two games and with the small problems we have with Toby Alderweireld, Harry Kane, Sissoko’s suspension and Erik Lamela on Saturday.Yes it is true it is a tough period when you play, play, play that you need all the squad available, but you need to adapt to the competition and we are happy,” said Pochettino.
