The Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton has it that he is extremely happy to have taken his chance in the Tottenham first-team. His future was in doubt during the start of the season due to the presence of several high quality players at the club. The change of the management that happened within arrival of Andre Villas-Boas has helped the youngster play on a regular basis in the first half of the season. The 24-year-old has already made 15 appearances for the club in the first half. The injury to the Cameroon international Benoit Assou-Ekotto has also benefited the youngster hugely.

He has said that he is extremely happy to be representing of the stature of Tottenham on a regular basis. Tottenham have made a great start to the season under Andre Villas-Boas. They are currently in the third position ahead of the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal. They are one of the favourites to finish in the fourth position. Naughton has said that he is happy to be part of this incredibly successful team. The club will be playing against QPR during the weekend. They recently progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup after the 3-0 win over Coventry City at White Hart Lane.

“I have had to be patient here at Spurs. It’s taken a few years to get a run in the side, but the gaffer seems to like the way I play, he’s giving me a chance and it’s up to me now to take it. I’ve been pleased with my performances but the main thing for me is that the team got the points over the busy festive period,” said the 24-year-old. Tottenham have a number of players capable of playing in the left back and right back positions, which makes the performances of Naughton even more impressive.

The Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has suggested that the former midfielder Luka Modric should be staying out of the transfer interest surrounding the star midfielder Gareth Bale. Luka Modric recently completed his £ 35 million move from Tottenham to Real Madrid. He has recently suggested that the Welshman Gareth Bale, who is regarded as one of the best young wingers in the world, should join him at the Spanish club. There has already been a lot of speculation surrounding the 22-year-old and the Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas recently admitted that he does not know how long the club can keep hold of him.

However, he is extremely angered by the Croatian midfielder asking the Welshman to come to Santiago Bernabeu. He has said that instead of focusing on the future of Gareth Bale, Modric should be focusing on his own Real Madrid career. At the Spanish club, Modric has been unable to get regular first-team spot due to the performances of players like Mesut Ozil and Angel di Maria. The Real Madrid manager José Mourinho suggested that the 26-year-old is still in the process of settling in at the club and he expects him to be a major player in the coming seasons.

Mourinho has also said that he is extremely happy with his performance so far. Bale has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. “It’s extremely difficult, if not impossible. Obviously Modric is aware of Gareth’s performances because of his love for Tottenham and the fact that he is very connected with him and this football club. But it’s completely impossible. I think Modric now has to think about his own team,” said Andre Villas-Boas, who has been able to get back-to-back victories against West Ham and Liverpool. This has raised the team to the fourth position in the league.

As Andre Villas-Boas attempts to fend off pressure from the club’s supporters following the poor start to the season, he also has another situation to deal with. Having announced to the public that Brad Friedel will remain Spurs’ No.1 for now, he appears to have upset new signing Hugo Lloris who says “it’s never nice” to hear such comments.

Spurs made no secret of the fact that they were chasing Lloris for the whole summer and eventually landed their man courtesy of a £12m deal. However, even though many supporters were delighted to sign a player with such a positive reputation in Europe, there were concerns at just how the France international would fit in. Despite his advancing years, Brad Friedel is still regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the top flight and few would disagree that he would have been very hard done by to lose his place. AVB seemed to realise this, quickly telling the press that Lloris would have to earn his shirt in the team.

Obviously, this hasn’t gone down well with the new signing. There were murmurs of dissatisfaction after France manager Didier Deschamps revealed that he was not happy with Villas-Boas’ comments last week. However, Lloris has added more fuel to the fire, stating, “Obviously it’s never nice, but we’ll see when we return to work on Wednesday.”

Furthermore, Friedel believes that his place in the team is fully vindicated. When asked about the situation, he told the press, “Right now I believe the shirt is mine to lose, I believe the manager came out and said that. If that’s the case, then great.”

Bearing the above in mind, it remains to be seen how AVB handles this situation. He has come under fire in the past for his man management skills and following this situation, the same looks to be occurring again.

The new Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has told Tottenham FC News that he will be holding showdown talks with the manager Andre Villas-Boas over his position at the club.

The former Lyon goalkeeper was signed on the transfer deadline day for around £ 12 million, thus making him one of the most expensive goalkeepers in the Premier league. However, the manager Andre Villas-Boas said after the match against Norwich that he will retain Brad Friedel as his number one goalkeeper for the time being. The 41-year-old Brad Friedel may be an excellent goalkeeper, but he is coming to the end of his career.

As a result, the club decided to bring in the 26-year-old Hugo Lloris as his replacement, while they have also other first choice goalkeepers like Gomes and Carlo Cudicini. The French international has said that he was expected to be part of the starting line-up given his transfer fee and his stature within the game. However, he has expressed his surprise that he will not be the first choice goalkeeper at the club. He has also said that it will seriously affect his stature within the international team. Hugo Lloris is the first choice goalkeeper for the French national team.

“Obviously it’s never nice but we’ll see when we return on Wednesday. When I join up with the national team I concentrate uniquely and we’ll see about my personal situation when I go back,” said the goalkeeper in response to his future at the new club Tottenham. Meanwhile, the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has also come out in support of his fellow countryman by saying that he expects Lloris to be the first choice goalkeeper because Brad Friedel does not have many more years left in him. The American International has not missed a Premier league match since 2004.
