Tottenham Hotspurs coach Mauricio Pochettino has praised his striker Harry Kane for scoring 100 goals for Spurs.

He said that this is a wonderful achievement for the player and that shows the quality of the striker.

The striker managed to achieve this feat in the game against Everton where he scored two goals to help his team win the game by 3-0.

Mauricio Pochettino said that for a striker it is important to score goals and that it is important for his confidence. Indeed Harry Kane scored two goals for England last week, and this time he managed a double with his club.

The first goal scored by Harry Kane appeared to be a fluke, and the player himself later admitted that it was intended for a cross but Mauricio Pochettino believes that this is not important. He said that the job of a striker is to score goals and Harry Kane is doing the job that is expected of him. Continue Reading

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur could lose one of their best legs this summer going by reports in England that Kyle Walker is having a row with his manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Walker reportedly wants away from White Hart Lane this summer and he was left off the team again. The right back who has been named two times in the PFA Team of the Year is a top target for many sides in Europe.

Manchester United, and Manchester City are the top sides chasing his signature in England, with other clubs keen on getting him as well. Spurs have enjoyed an impressive run this year. They are in no rush to sell their coveted stars as they remain focused on building an award winning team.

With the speculations going round if Spurs want to allow any player leave, it would likely be Walker. He could easily provide a return of £35-40million. The money could help the club invest in options that would prove helpful in retaining other stars like Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Danny Rose and others. Continue Reading

The 2017 summer transfer window opens up on July 1st and even though it’s over 3 months away from happening, Mauricio Pochettino has already revealed details concerning which potential players he wants to sign.

According to the 45 year old Argentinean manager of Tottenham Hotspur Mauricio Pochettino has recently stated that he does not want to focus solely on the abilities of the possible players that could arrive in a few months’ time as Pochettino said:

“Even though Newell’s Old Boys were a medium-level club in Argentina, we won three titles. It was an important time for me to understand that even though you can add good players and staff from outside the club, the academy is important as that is the identity of the club’’

“For a big club, it always seems more important to spend money on players from outside than give a chance to a younger player, but we have shown that we trust in the academy and if they have faith in us, these players can have the chance to play in the first team. We try to sign players who can improve our squad not only in terms of football quality. If they are very good people, it is even better. We are a company. Football is the most important thing but it is not only about football.” Continue Reading

Tottenham Hotspur record-breaking summer signing Moussa Sissoko has admitted that he needs time to settle in and get used to how things are ran at White Hart Lane.

The former Newcastle man joined Pochettino’s side in the crazy hours of last transfer window’s deadline day for £30 million.

The France international have however found it difficult to settle into Spurs’ set-up, a big surprise since he was already accustomed to playing in the Premier League from his time at the Newcastle United.

Last game’s 3-nil drubbing of Hull City was his first start on the back of an impressive substitute cameo against Manchester United in Sunday’s one-nil loss.

Prior to those two matches, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino sounded out a warning to the former Toulouse man, charging him to fight for a place on the starting line-up and justify Tottenham’s outlay on him. With the two impressive outings he seems to be answering the questions asked of him

“For me the manager said what he thinks, forme it was the same, just to come into training and try to give my best. I know what I can do for the team, I know what my level is,” said the 27-year-old. Continue Reading

Tottenham’s disappointing form continued after a 1-1 draw with champions Leicester City.

It was an extremely disappointing result for Mauricio Pochettino and his team considering that they were playing at home. After a spectacular run of results that saw them secure a 2-0 win over Manchester City before the last international break, Spurs were considered as potential title contenders. However, they have failed to win since that unlikely win over City and have dropped five points behind the table leaders as a result. Even after this latest result, the club continue to remain in a strong position.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino does have a big work of bringing back confidence into the team, but he is not unfazed about the recent poor form. A lot was made up of the club’s high-intensity style of football at the start of the season. Many felt that Tottenham would not be able to keep up this level of intensity in the second half of the season due to their involvement in the Champions League.

After having been one of the most successful managers in world football, Pep Guardiola could be expected to walk his way to a successful campaign with Manchester City.

Apart from having to concentrate on the domestic commitments, City also have the small matter of doing well in Europe. The latter not only applies for City, but also to the manager. Here are some of the six games that could define City’s campaign in the 2016-17 season.

Manchester Derby

The first taste of Manchester derby for Guardiola will arrive in September. As both the teams arrive into the game with a 100% record, it will be extremely difficult to call. This will also see Guardiola being pitted against Jose Mourinho once again.
Liverpool on New Year’s Eve

Manchester City have been given one of the toughest ties on New Year’s Eve with the team facing Liverpool at Anfield. Going to Merseyside may not be as tough as before, but Liverpool are expected to provide a huge encounter. Even more interesting is that City have a game against Arsenal only a fortnight prior to this encounter.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he was left infuriated by the club’s failure to hold on to the second spot in the 2015-16 Premier League campaign.

For much of the season, Tottenham were involved in a title race along with Leicester. However, they could not hold on to the momentum in the final weeks of the season. After having just conceded defeat in the title race to Leicester, Tottenham’s form collapsed in the last few games and were surprisingly beaten 5-1 by relegated Newcastle United in the final day of the season.

This result proved catastrophic as Arsenal overtook Spurs into the second spot. It meant that Tottenham now have to live with the record of not having finished ahead of Arsenal in almost 20 years.Pochettino says that the collapse by the team in the final few games of the season was totally not acceptable. He also claimed that his summer holiday was completely ruined by this aspect.Pochettino does not seem to be pleased with the fact that the club achieved Champions League qualification. Instead, the ignominious record of being the second best team in North London seems to be indigestible for the South American.
