Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric has said that the club need not worry about the 1-1 draw with Wolves during the weekend. Tottenham could have gone level on points with leaders Manchester City with a win over a struggling Wolves side.

Tottenham came into the match with high praise from their manager Harry Redknapp, but they were unable to take advantage of this situation, as they could only draw with Wolves. As a result of this draw, Manchester City have the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table to five points, which will be very significant at this stage of the season.

However, Luka Modric has said that the club need not worry about the dropped points in one match because they have been quite brilliant in the last few weeks. Tottenham have not only overtaken the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, but also Chelsea as well. This has pushed them into the third position in the table just behind leaders Manchester City and Manchester United. Ahead of the match with Wolves, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp was speaking on the title credentials of Tottenham this season. He said that Tottenham are very well capable of winning the title this season.

“It was a shame we didn’t win. It was a hard game, especially when Wolves scored first. It’s always harder when the opposition score first against us at White Hart Lane, they can then sit back and it’s hard to break them down. They fought for everything, defended well and took a point from us,” Harry Redknapp said after the 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. Tottenham’s lead over Chelsea has now been cut by two points following this result. Manchester City will play again until Monday when they take on Wigan athletic.
